PIJ Texting · Last updated August 8, 2026
This policy describes how the SMS messaging feature of the Personal Intelligence Journal application ("PIJ Texting") handles information. PIJ Texting is operated by an individual as a personal project.
The Personal Intelligence Journal is a private journaling application that runs locally on its owner's own computer. PIJ Texting is a single-user feature: the only person who receives messages is the owner of that application, at their own mobile number, which they enter themselves in the application's settings. There are no other subscribers, no customer list, and no public sign-up.
No information is collected from anyone other than the owner of the application. Messages received from any number other than the owner's configured number are ignored and never replied to.
The phone number is used only to deliver messages to the owner. Message content is used only to provide the features the owner turned on: sending reminders and check-in messages, replying to the owner's texts, and saving notes the owner texts in into their own journal.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile opt-in data, phone number, or message content is sold, rented, or shared for marketing, promotional, or lead-generation purposes to anyone, under any circumstances.
Message history is stored locally on the owner's own computer, within the application's data files. It is not stored on a public server and is not accessible to anyone else.
Messages are transmitted through Twilio Inc., the licensed communications provider used to send and receive SMS, and through the recipient's mobile carrier. Twilio processes message data solely to deliver it. After a message has been delivered and recorded locally, the application deletes the corresponding record from Twilio's systems, so message content is not retained there.
Information is not disclosed to third parties except in two narrow cases: (1) to Twilio and the mobile carriers, strictly as necessary to transmit the messages themselves, and (2) if required by law, such as a valid subpoena or court order. There is no other sharing of any kind.
Messages sent by this program are reminders the owner created, an optional once-daily check-in message, replies to messages the owner sends first, and occasional notices that new content is waiting in the application. Message frequency varies. The application enforces a daily message cap, set to 25 messages per day by default.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages from this program. Reply HELP for help. Messaging can also be disabled entirely at any time from the Texting section of the application's Settings, which stops all sending and receiving.
Because the message history lives in the owner's own local application data, the owner may delete it at any time by deleting that data in the application. Records held by Twilio are deleted by the application automatically once a message has been delivered and stored locally.
This program is not directed to children and is used solely by its adult owner.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
