PIJ Texting

The SMS feature of the Personal Intelligence Journal, a private journaling application operated by an individual for personal use.

What this is

Personal Intelligence Journal (PIJ) is a personal journaling and reflection application that runs locally on its owner's computer. PIJ Texting is the optional SMS feature of that application. It allows the application to send its owner reminders and daily check-in messages, and allows the owner to text notes back to be saved into their journal.

This is a single-user personal program. The only recipient of messages is the owner of the application, texting their own phone number. There is no customer list, no marketing, no third-party recipients, and no public sign-up.

How opt-in works

The owner opts in by opening the application's Settings, selecting the Texting section, entering their own mobile phone number, and enabling the feature with an on/off switch. No messages are sent until that switch is turned on. Enabling the feature within the application is the sole opt-in method; there is no web form, no purchased list, and no third-party sign-up path.

Message types and frequency

Message frequency varies. The application enforces a configurable daily cap, set to 25 messages per day by default.
